Mumbai: German luxury car manufacturer Audi has unveiled its latest offerings in the electric vehicle segment in India with the launch of the new Audi Q8 e-tron models. Following its recent global introduction, the new lineup includes four distinctive variants: the Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron. These vehicles bring a blend of luxury, performance, and cutting-edge electric technology to the Indian market.
One of the key highlights of the Audi Q8 e-tron range is the battery capacity, with the Audi Q8 55 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron equipped with a 114 kWh battery pack – the largest in the industry for this segment. This battery contributes to a driving range of up to 600 kilometers, certified under the WLTP standards.
Meanwhile, the Audi Q8 50 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron variants feature a robust 95 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 505 kilometers on a single charge.
Powering these vehicles are electric drivetrains that deliver strong performance figures. The Audi Q8 55 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron variants generate a combined power output of 408 horsepower and an impressive 664 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 5.6 seconds for these models. On the other hand, the Audi Q8 50 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron offer a 340 horsepower and the same 664 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds.
The new Audi Q8 e-tron models exhibit excellent adaptability, both on the road and off. The e-quattro all-wheel drive system, working in tandem with Audi Drive Select, offers three modes – auto, dynamic, and off-road – providing a seamless transition between various driving conditions. Furthermore, the models feature adaptive air suspension with adjustable ride height, ensuring optimal comfort and performance on diverse terrains.
The Audi Q8 55 e-tron and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, with their expansive 114 kWh batteries, enable extended driving ranges of up to 582 km and 600 km, respectively, certified by WLTP standards. Both variants support AC charging up to 22 kW and DC fast charging up to 170 kW, ensuring quicker and convenient charging options.
