Driverless cars and driver assistance technologies raise new legal questions about who is responsible for the vehicle when a computer is in control.

Vogt’s resignation follows the recall of all 950 Cruise vehicles prompted by an incident in San Francisco involving a pedestrian being dragged by the vehicle.

According to the unions, driverless vehicles are currently deemed to be unsafe and unsustainable.
