The unveiling of the all-new 2025 5 Series LWB marked a significant milestone for the Bavarian carmaker. This launch completes their sedan portfolio, with long-wheelbase variants now available across the board. India holds a unique distinction — the first right-hand drive market globally to receive this iteration of the 5 Series, highlighting the country’s growing importance in the luxury car landscape.
A Familiar Silhouette, Evolved
Codenamed G68, the new 5 Series represents a thoughtful design evolution. Unlike the radical aesthetic shift seen in its larger sibling, the 7 Series, the new 5 Series retains the classic silhouette that has defined the model for generations. This approach offers a sense of familiarity to existing BMW enthusiasts, while the subtle yet purposeful modernisations ensure the car stays relevant in today’s market.
The signature kidney grille takes centre stage, boasting a noticeable increase in size. This curved panel integrates a massive 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. However, with the introduction of the new 5 Series LWB, BMW seems intent on challenging this perception.
