One of the biggest highlights of the new Mercedes-Maybach S580 is its extended wheelbase of 3,396mm – 180mm more than the long-wheelbase (LWB) S-Class.
The exterior of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can be enhanced with an optional two-tone paint finish with a dividing line.
The luxury limousine is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 (a V12 in the case of the range-topping S680 Maybach), with EQ Boost mild-hybrid tech, 4MATIC all-wheel-drive, and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Power & torque figures are pegged at 496bhp and 700Nm.
The optional High-End Interior Pack offers features like rear comfort doors, MBUX rear seat entertainment, Burmester 4D surround sound system, active ambient lighting, adaptive rear lighting, and folding tables in the rear, to name a few.
The Maybach S-Class comes with E-Active Body Control active suspension, combined with standard Airmatic air suspension.
A lounge-like décor is created with high-quality wood surrounds that encase the rear of the front seat backrests.
With active road noise compensation, the system reduces unwanted low-frequency noises using counter-phased sound waves emitted via the Burmester surround sound system.
An optional extra, the Maybach S-Class can be equipped with electrically operated comfort rear doors, which can also be operated from the driver's seat.
Inside, up to five screens offer an immersive experience via Mercedes' second-gen MBUX system – a 12.8-inch OLED central display forms the command centre, while a 12.3-inch unit forms the driver’s digital instrument cluster.
The Maybach interior is based on the interior design of the standard S-Class.
