The Mercedes-Benz EQE is the second model based on the brand’s premium electric architecture (EVA2), following the flagship EQS. It is the all-electric version of the E-Class.
Production of the EQE takes place at the Mercedes plant in Bremen for the global market and at the Beijing Benz Automotive Company (BBAC) in Beijing for the local market.
The EQE is more compact than the EQS, with a 90mm shorter wheelbase at 3,120mm. In terms of external dimensions, it is comparable to the CLS.
The EQE 350 gets a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that consists of ten modules. The in-house developed battery management software allows over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The interior design and equipment is based on the EQS, with features like the MBUX Hyperscreen, automatic comfort doors (front), and rear-axle steering available as optional extras.
With the optionally available MBUX Hyperscreen, the entire instrument panel is a single widescreen.
The EQE 350 gets a 215kW powertrain that offers a WLTP driving range of up to 660km.
As standard, the EQE gets a four-link front and multilink rear suspension, which is closely related in design to the new S-Class. As an option, the EQE is available with Airmatic air suspension with an ADS+ adaptive damping system.
The rear forms a dynamic accent with a sharp-looking spoiler. Flush with the outer edge of the body, the 19- to 21-inch wheels, together with a muscular shoulder section, give the EQE an athletic character.
