The all-new LX is the fourth generation of Lexus’ flagship SUV and the first complete model change in 14 years.
Since its launch in 1996, the LX Lexus has sold a cumulative total of approximately 500,000 units in more than 50 countries as of the end of August 2021.
While maintaining a traditional body-on-frame structure, the LX renews its characteristics by adopting the new Global Architecture GA-F platform, resulting in a weight reduction of approx. 200kg.
The refreshed styling is anchored by a new interpretation of the signature Lexus spindle grille in a large, frameless arrangement of parallel bars.
The fourth-gen model has maintained its 26˚ angle of approach, 25˚ angle of departure, and 26˚ ramp-over angle.
The slim headlights house four-projector LEDs and are underscored by integrated daytime running lights (DRLs) and indicator lamps arranged in Lexus’ signature arrowhead design.
The previous split tailgate has been replaced by a one-piece top-hinged back door. The rear lights combine Lexus’ ‘L-motif’ shape in the clusters with horizontal blade light that extends across the width of the vehicle.
Lexus calls the LX's cabin “Tazuna” cockpit, where the design and layout of the controls and information displays are precise for quick and easy operation, with the least movement of the eyes or body.
Two new power units make their debut in the new LX, a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol in the LX 600 and a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel in the LX 500d. The latter produces 304bhp @ 4,000rpm and 700Nm of torque.
The new LX is available with five or seven seats – the latter with a new folding mechanism for the second and third rows that creates a vast load space with a flat floor at the touch of a button.
