The 2024 Subaru WRX TR debuted at Subiefest Florida in October 2023 as the range-topping version of the model. It went on sale in December 2023.
Infotainment duties are managed by the latest version of the 11.6-inch Subaru Starlink Multimedia Plus system.
The boot lid has an integrated low-profile rear spoiler in matching body colour. The rear light signature is designed to glow mimicking volcanic magma.
Inside, the WRX TR offers Recaro seats as standard, wrapped in black and grey Ultrasuede with contrasting red stitching and the “Recaro” logo embossed on the seatbacks. The driver’s seat is eight-way power-adjustable.
At the front, Subaru’s signature hexagonal grille is paired with a compact headlight design and broad bonnet scoop.
It’s powered by Subaru’s 2.4-litre turbocharged Boxer engine that develops 271HP @ 5,600rpm and 350Nm of torque from 2,000-5,200rpm.
The WRX TR is equipped with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Active Torque Vectoring as standard.
Offered for the first time on WRX with manual transmission (WRX TR comes with a six-speed manual gearbox only) is Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology which offers multiple ADAS features.
The WRX TR features a high-performance Brembo braking system that includes red 6-piston front callipers, and red two-piston rear callipers, larger pads and rotors, and a larger brake master cylinder than the standard WRX.
Stiffer springs, revised damping rates and a retuned steering rack provide the WRX TR with better body control and steering response while maintaining ride quality.
The sedan drives on bespoke 19-inch multi-spoke wheels finished in satin grey and shod with 245/35 R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tyres.
