Mazda has taken the wraps off the new EZ-6 electric sedan, which is the first of many electric vehicles to come from Mazda’s stable. The new Mazda EZ-6 sits on a dedicated electrified platform and boasts the signature Mazda design philosophy.
Speaking of its mechanicals, the Mazda EZ-6 measures 4,921mm, 1,890mm and 1,485mm in LxWxH. It comes with a single motor placed at the rear axle powering the rear wheels only.
Courtesy of its electrified platform, the Mazda EZ-6 will be available in both all-electric and plug-in-hybrid propulsion options. The all-electric EZ-6 will offer a 50:50 weight distribution for confident handling.
Furthermore, it packs front strut suspension and rear multi-link suspension; and an electric-powered rear spoiler that improves high-speed stability.
While its design and driving attributes are taken from Mazda, the innovative tech and features are supplied by Changan Automotive.
Mazda is yet to reveal the battery and motor specifications for the new EZ-6. The carmaker claims that the electric EZ-6 will offer an expected driving range of 600km. Launch is slated for late-2024 in China.
