The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift made its global debut in India, with bookings expected to open from 20th December. The prices will be revealed in January 2024.
The updated compact SUV gets cosmetic updates, feature additions, and a Level-1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite like its Hyundai sibling, the Venue.
In terms of design, the Sonet facelift is an evolution of the outgoing model. Highlights at the front include new and bigger LED headlamps surrounded by new LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), a new bumper with a redesigned skid plate and new horizontally mounted LED fog lamps.
Inside, the biggest change is the addition of a new, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster borrowed from its larger sibling, the Seltos. It retains the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system but it gets a redesigned housing.
Other cabin updates come in the form of a new display for the HVAC controls and new seat upholstery.
Like the new Kia models in India, the Sonet facelift features an LED light bar at the rear with two vertical, C-shaped tail lamps on either side. Other updates include a new bumper and a roof-mounted spoiler. The 16-inch alloy wheels also get a new design.
The Sonet continues to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
The Sonet facelift gets the same engine options as before: a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder NA petrol, a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel engine.
The Level-1 ADAS suite includes features like lane departure warning, forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance assistance and warning, high beam assist, lane keeping assist, etc.
