The 2023 Toyota Alphard made its global debut in June 2023 alongside the new Vellfire MPV.
It is powered by a 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder hybrid engine that develops 247bhp.
The lighting, switches for numerous in-car functions, and air conditioning vents and control panel now sit in a new overhead console. Previously, these were located on both sides of the roof.
Since the model’s debut in 2002, the 2023 version is the fourth generation of Toyota’s flagship people carrier.
The 2023 Alphard is one of the first Toyota vehicles to get a Universal Step on the sliding doors on both sides. As the doors open, a step emerges approximately 220mm above ground, lowering the height of the first step for passengers entering or exiting the vehicle.
It is based on an optimised TNGA-K platform that offers 50% more rigidity than the outgoing model.
The people carrier gets TNGA-specific MacPherson strut front suspension with an updated double wishbone rear suspension.
The space between the front and second-row seats, and between the second-row and third-row seats, has been increased by 5mm and 10mm, respectively.
The moonroof uses independently operable right and left-side sun shades and pull-down side-window sunshades have also been added.
Rubber bushings in the attachment portions of the cushion frames and memory foam in the backrests and armrests have been used to reduce in-car vibrations for second-row passengers.
