Zypp Electric, a tech-enabled EV-as-a-service platform, has announced substantial increases in earnings for its gig workforce, highlighting its commitment to empowering delivery partners with sustainable and lucrative opportunities. The average age of Zypp Pilots, primarily EV riders, is 27 years, with a notable milestone: 8% of pilots now earn over INR 50,000 per month, marking a 50% increase since March.
Additionally, 14% of Zypp Pilots have seen their monthly earnings rise to INR 40,000 to INR 50,000, showcasing an impressive 81% growth over the same period. Overall, 35% of Zypp Pilots are now earning more than INR 24,000 per month, underscoring a consistent upward trend in income.
The earnings for Zypp’s three-wheeler pilots have also shown significant improvement, with 5% exceeding INR 80,000 per month and 30% surpassing INR 50,000 monthly. These figures underscore Zypp Electric’s successful efforts in enhancing earning potential across its diverse fleet of EV operations. City-specific data highlights regional successes, with Bangalore leading in the number of high-earning pilots, while Delhi stands out for pilots earning between INR 40,000 and INR 50,000 monthly.
Apart from financial incentives, Zypp Electric provides a range of benefits tailored to pilot tenure. Newcomers receive enhanced earning opportunities and insurance coverage, progressing to rewards like merchandise and service discounts as they gain experience. Longer-tenured pilots enjoy gold category privileges, family insurance, and exclusive perks such as special helmets and movie tickets.
Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Zypp Electric, expressed his satisfaction with these achievements, emphasising the company’s commitment to providing sustainable and profitable earning opportunities. He highlighted the pivotal role of Zypp’s pilots in driving the company’s success and promoting a greener future through EV adoption.
Zypp Electric is also focused on expanding its workforce inclusivity by partnering with NGOs and agencies to onboard women and specially abled individuals as delivery partners. The company aims to increase its current gig worker strength from 25,000 to 10 times that number in the next two years, capitalising on India’s burgeoning delivery segment.
Recently, Zypp Electric commenced its Series C funding round, securing USD 15 million to bolster its growth initiatives following a successful fiscal year 2023-24 with revenue reaching INR 325 crore. The company’s environmentally friendly initiatives have notably reduced 31 million kilograms of carbon emissions since inception.
