The Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail is the latest result of the collaboration between Italian coachbuilding company Zagato and Polish supercar dealer La Squadra. In this partnership, Zagato focuses on car design and production, while La Squadra handles sales and marketing. The car will make its static debut in prototype form at FuoriConcorso on 25th May, ahead of its dynamic debut in July. With the order books already open, the production is underway, and customer deliveries will commence in October 2024. Only 19 examples will be produced (prototype chassis #00 seen in images), with each car taking more than 1,000 hours to hand-assemble over 15 weeks. And with a pre-tax price tag of €650,000, it is also one of the most expensive four-cylinder cars to go on sale.
In essence, the AGTZ Twin Tail is Zagato’s modern-day interpretation of the not-so-popular Alpine A220 Le Mans racer. Using an Alpine A110 as the donor car, the AGTZ Twin Tail is coach-built largely out of carbon fibre. What makes it unique is a removable elongated rear deck, giving it its Twin Tail name. This feature allows the car to be used as a long-tail or a short-tail. With the rear deck on, the AGTZ is 622mm longer than the standard A110. Thanks to its carbon fibre body, it’s expected to weigh less than the A110.
It uses the A110’s turbocharged 248bhp 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbo engine, with a top speed of over 250km/h and a 0-100km/h time of under five seconds. Customers will also have the option to upgrade the standard engine, along with the suspension, brakes, and exhaust.
Customers can also choose from 19 colours and nine liveries to customise their AGTZ Twin Tail, along with optional carbon wheels.
