Webasto Charging Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of the Webasto Group, is set to enhance the accessibility of its TurboConnect charger, reinforcing its commitment to providing advanced and widely available electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. The TurboConnect charger, initially introduced to high-volume customers in March, will become more widely accessible from early 2024, aiming to make EV charging secure and efficient for a broader audience.
TurboConnect charger: advancing EV charging
The TurboConnect charging station, tailored for both private and commercial use, boasts advanced Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet connectivity, meeting stringent cybersecurity standards. With a 11.5kW (48A) power output, it facilitates rapid charging, adding approximately 44 miles of range per hour. Catering to various settings, including residential, fleet, workplace, and destination charging, the TurboConnect aims to offer a comprehensive charging solution.
Seamless integration with the Webasto ChargeConnect Web Portal and App prioritizes features like reservation and QR code functionality. The platform also integrates with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), streamlining the charging experience and enhancing efficiency. Dr. Michael J. Two new charging solutions
Webasto Charging Systems is also introducing two new additions to its lineup. The Turbo DX 2 Charging Station, a versatile Level 2 charger with a power output of 7.7kW, offers plug-in or hardwired options and adds up to 30 miles of range per hour. Encased in aluminum housing with advanced safety measures, it aims to deliver efficient, safe, and reliable charging in various settings, including residential use.
The Webasto Go Gen 2 High-Power Cordset marks a new era in portable Level 2 EV charging. Supporting a maximum charging power of up to 9.6kW (40A) at 240V, it swiftly adds up to 37.5 miles of range per hour. The cordset, designed for convenience and reliability, is positioned as a solution for diverse EV owner needs, both at home and on the go.
Focus on safety and sustainability
Webasto Charging Systems places a strong emphasis on safety and energy efficiency, with all products certified by recognized bodies and Energy-Star rated for sustainability. Notably, all chargers support either the SAE J1772 or NACS coupler standard, aligning with industry standards.
The TurboConnect charger’s wider availability, along with the introduction of the Turbo DX 2 Charging Station and Webasto Go Gen 2 High-Power Cordset, underlines Webasto Charging Systems’ commitment to advancing EV charging solutions and meeting the evolving needs of electric vehicle owners.
