Volkswagen’s luxury division Audi announced on Thursday that its Brussels manufacturing plant will cease production by February 28, 2024, marking the end of an era for the factory. The decision follows months of speculation and unsuccessful attempts to secure alternatives to closure.
“The decision to close the Brussels factory is painful. Personally, it was the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make in my professional career,” said Gerd Walker, a member of Audi AG’s board and head of production.
