VinFast Auto Ltd., a Vietnam-based multinational automotive company under the Vingroup, announced an unprecedented 27,649 non-refundable and non-transferable pre-orders for its mini-SUV, the VF 3, within 66 hours of opening the order books. With this, VinFast has set a Vietnamese automotive record. The company also claimed the VF 3 topped social media charts since VinFast opened pre-orders.
The key to this blockbuster opening can be attributed to the VF 3’s competitive introductory price of 235 million VND with battery subscription (approximately $9,248) and 315 million VND with battery purchase (approximately $12,390) for customers who placed deposits between 13th– 15th May. To put this into perspective, paying for a VF 3 fully upfront costs only half the price of the cheapest gasoline car model currently available in the Vietnamese market.
Customers also have the option to opt for finance schemes with up to eight-year tenures. In this case, for the vehicle down payment, a customer only needs between 50-70 million VND (approximately $1,965-$2,750) and the resulting EMI is just 2 million VND (approximately $78.5)!
The VF 3 also made headlines for becoming the first-ever vehicle in Vietnam to be sold on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, and VinID, and orders could be placed through nine livestream sessions conducted by 15 influencers.
Sharing her thoughts on the VF 3’s Vietnam debut, Duong Thi Thu Trang, CEO of VinFast Vietnam, said, “The 27,649 pre-orders received within 66 hours is a testament to the strong support and trust of the Vietnamese people for VinFast. We are extremely grateful for our customers’ endorsement of the VF 3 and our brand, and we will strive to continue to earn their support as we grow into a world-class Vietnamese automaker”.
Like other VinFast EVs, the VF 3 offers a compelling 7-year/160,000km overall vehicle warranty and an 8-year/unlimited warranty on the battery.
