VECV Partners with IIT Indore for Future-Ready Tech Advancement

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has solidified a significant five-year partnership with IIT Indore (IITI) to enhance technological prowess and skills in the automotive sector. This dynamic alliance marks the convergence of industry and academia, fostering robust competence development in response to the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, and Mr. Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, COO of VE Commercial Vehicles, sets the stage for a comprehensive collaboration. VECV’s employees will be empowered to pursue advanced degrees – MTech, MS(R), and Ph.D. – from IIT Indore, fortifying their expertise in alignment with industry demands.

Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, COO of VE Commercial Vehicles, outlined the pivotal nature of the initiative, stating, “This VECV-backed program prioritizes employees’ growth. Over the span of five years, around 100 students and professionals will engage in this mutually beneficial exchange. The MoU not only cultivates research synergies but also strengthens academic pursuits across shared areas of interest.”

The MTech program encapsulates a forward-looking approach, with employees engaging in online coursework during the first year. In the subsequent year, project work will be conducted at VECV’s Pithampur and Bhopal Plants or at IIT Indore, guided by dedicated thesis supervisors.

Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, emphasized the multi-faceted cooperation, “This collaboration encompasses joint research ventures, scientific mobility, information exchange, research outcomes utilization, and technology transfer. It will play a pivotal role in employee training at VECV, student internships from IITI, and the facilitation of impactful workshops, research endeavors, and consultancy projects.”

The alliance between VECV and IIT Indore holds promise for elevating the automotive industry’s technological readiness. By bridging the gap between academia and practical application, this partnership not only benefits the involved entities but also augments the nation’s capacity to innovate and excel in the global automotive arena.
