In a global milestone for TVS Motor Company, it has launched operations in Italy. The Chennai-based global manufacturer of two- and three-wheelers will launch a selection of its range of scooters and motorcycles in the European nation. The world’s fourth-largest and third in market capitalisation, TVS already sells its products in 80 countries. In Italy, the automaker is expanding its operations via its branch office, TVS Motor Italia.
The Italian arm will be headed by Giovanni Notarbartolo di Furnari who brings an extensive experience to the table from senior managerial roles in various automotive companies in Italy, Latin America, the UAE, and Europe. “Our focus will be on two fundamental pillars: product quality and customer satisfaction. It is with a lot of pride that I am undertaking this amazing new adventure with one of the top five two-wheeler manufacturers in the world,” he said at the sidelines of the launch event.
The range of motorbikes that will be offered by TVS in Italy include Apache 310 Series, Ronin 250 and Raider. The Apache Series will be offered in RR and RTR versions, marking successful international collaboration with BMW. The Ronin 250 is a retro-modern motorcycle which takes inspiration from the modern and new-age rider. The Raider is being offered as a compatible companion for daily commutes.
The range of scooters being offered by the company include NTorq, Jupiter 125, iQube and X. The latter two are battery powered offerings for those who plan to choose sustainable and greener commute options. TVS X connected electric scooter has been designed in India and features some state-of-the-art technological features.
TVS Motor Company is also offering a range of mountain and city e-bikes in Italy – Cilo, EGO Movement, Simpel, and EBCO ranges. These offering are a balanced blend of daily comfort, performance and styling. “Italy’s rich automotive culture and its embrace of cutting-edge transport solutions present a perfect backdrop for our product range,” said Sharad Mohan Mishra, President, Head Group Strategy.
Last year, the company achieved a milestone of catering to four million global customers. “This validates our capabilities in design, technology, and service, fuelling our confidence as we step into Europe,” Mishra said.
