TVS Motor Co has introduced a new variant of its best-selling scooter, the Jupiter. Priced at Rs 84,468 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Jupiter ZX Drum combines the ZX variant with a drum brake and SmartXonnect Bluetooth technology, previously available only with the disc brake version.
Equipped with TVS’ Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect tech, the new variant offers features like turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, and notification alerts. The scooter also includes a built-in USB charger. Additionally, the ZX Drum model introduces two new colors, Starlight Blue and an exclusive Olive Gold.
Powered by an air-cooled, 109.7cc single-cylinder engine producing 7.8hp and 8.8 Nm of torque, the Jupiter ZX Drum features a simple underbone frame and is suspended by a telescopic fork and monoshock setup. The braking system incorporates drum brakes at both ends.
With this launch, the TVS Jupiter range expands to seven variants – four 110cc and three 125cc – priced between Rs 73,240 and 89,648 (ex-showroom Delhi). Jupiter Achieves Over 5.77 Million Sales Challenging India’s top-selling scooter, the Honda Activa, the TVS Jupiter has achieved significant sales milestones. Launched in September 2013, the Jupiter surpassed the 5-million sales mark in June 2022 and has now reached a cumulative sales figure of over 5.77 million units as of June 2023.
In FY2023, TVS Motor Co recorded remarkable growth in scooter sales, with a total of 12,45,993 units sold, marking a 44% year-on-year increase (FY2021: 8,66,851 units). The Jupiter model alone accounted for 59% of TVS’ scooter sales during this period, with 729,546 units sold. However, growth has moderated in the first quarter of FY2024, with total scooter sales reaching 320,069 units, reflecting a 6.34% YoY growth (April-June 2022: 300,980 units).
