Triumph announces the 11th edition of DGR in India

Riders participating in the DGR will dress in dapper attire and ride their motorcycles to raise awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer research. This year’s event marks the 11th edition of the global ride in India, which has been supported by Triumph Motorcycles since its inception. The ride will be held on May 19th across 32 cities in India.

This year coincides with Triumph Motorcycles’ 11th year of operation in India. The company has established a loyal customer base, known as the “Triumph Tribe,” and offers a variety of motorcycles, including the recently successful Scrambler 400 and Speed 400 models. These motorcycles cater to riders who appreciate a blend of classic design and modern performance. Triumph’s strong presence in the Indian market has resulted in consistent growth, solidifying their position as a leading premium motorcycle brand.

The DGR is open to all classic and modern classic motorcycle owners who can register online. The event was founded in Sydney, Australia by Mark Hawwa with the aim of changing negative stereotypes associated with motorcyclists. The ride fosters a sense of community among motorcycle enthusiasts globally while raising funds for men’s health initiatives.

Triumph Motorcycles became the official motorcycle partner of the DGR in 2014. This partnership focuses on raising awareness about prostate cancer research and men’s mental health issues, ultimately aiming to increase fundraising for these causes. Riders who raise the most funds globally are eligible to win prizes, including limited-edition motorcycles and classic riding gear.

Commenting on the DGR, Sumeet Narang, President of Pro-Biking (Bajaj Auto Ltd.), stated that the event has become a highly anticipated occasion for motorcycle enthusiasts in India. He highlighted the impressive participation in previous years and the dedication of riders who participate for a worthy cause. Narang emphasised that the DGR celebrates a love for classic motorcycles while raising awareness about men’s health. He expects enthusiastic participation this year, buoyed by the strong sales performance of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X motorcycles.

The DGR has grown significantly since its inception. The 2023 edition was held in over 120 countries and has seen participation by over 500,000 riders who have collectively raised USD $45 million for men’s health initiatives.
