Toyota Kirloskar Motor sales grow 53% Y-o-Y in August

In July 2023, the company reached its highest monthly wholesale figures ever by selling 21,911 units.

Bangalore: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported robust sales figures for August 2023, marking its strongest monthly performance to date. The company recorded total sales of 22,910 units during the month, signifying a substantial year-on-year growth of 53% compared to August 2022 when it sold 14,959 units.

Domestic and Export Sales

Of the total units sold in August 2023, TKM’s domestic sales accounted for 20,970 units, highlighting the brand’s strong presence and growing popularity in the Indian market. The company also reported exporting 1,940 units during the same month, demonstrating its reach beyond Indian borders.

Exceptional Growth in Year-to-Date Sales

TKM has been consistently achieving remarkable sales growth throughout the year. In the period from January to August 2023, the company recorded a total of 147,192 units sold, reflecting an exceptional growth rate of 34.2% compared to the same period in the previous year when it sold 109,669 units.

Enhanced Production Capacity

The company’s ability to meet the increasing market demand has been bolstered by its enhanced production capacity, enabled through three-shift operations.

Continued Strong Performance

TKM’s impressive sales performance is underlined by its previous month’s achievement. In July 2023, the company reached its highest monthly wholesale figures ever by selling 21,911 units, consistently maintaining an upward trend in recent times.

Atul Sood, Vice President of Sales and Strategic Marketing at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed his delight at the strong sales momentum. He attributed this success to the ever-growing affinity customers have for the brand, with models like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and Legender continuing to lead in their respective segments.

He also mentioned the significant contribution of the Camry Hybrid and Glanza to the brand’s overall success. Moreover, Sood highlighted the consistent performance of the Toyota Hilux and its ability to create extraordinary driving experiences, which has garnered a growing customer base.

Expanding Product Portfolio

Sood emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its product portfolio to provide customers with more choices. In August, Toyota Kirloskar Motor introduced two new launches, The All New Vellfire and The All New Rumion, to cater to diverse lifestyle and mobility needs.

Commitment to Cleaner Technologies

In alignment with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’ (Self-Reliant India Campaign), the company unveiled the prototype of the world’s first BS 6 (Stage-II) Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle. This initiative underscores TKM’s commitment to introducing cleaner and greener technologies to support national objectives and create a carbon-neutral mobility society.
