Toyota has launched the new Hilux Champ pick-up truck in Thailand, which is based on the new IMV0 series platform. The bookings for the pick-up truck are already open in the Thai market.
The Hilux Champ has been a very popular and successful pick-up truck series in the Thai automotive market. Went on sale back in 2004, it was later introduced to over 180 countries around the globe helping communities and businesses to grow. To date, the IMV has crossed 2.7 million Thailand domestic sales and exports crossed 4 million.
The highlight of the new Hilux Champ is its new IMV0 series platform. The platform has been developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Motor Thailand keeping the needs of end consumers in mind.
At its launch, Toyota offers a choice of 11 customised models for the Hilux Champ. The models include 8 grades, different wheelbase and engine options. Toyota offers the option of both short- and long-wheelbase body styles along with flat deck options. Its engine options include 2.0L petrol, 2.7L petrol and 2.4L diesel. The price of the Toyota Hilux Champ starts from 459,000 and goes to 577,000 baht.
Speaking of its other specifications, the Hilux Champ long wheelbase measures 5,300mm in length, 1,785mm in width, and 1,735mm in height and boasts a wheelbase of 3,085mm. Its 2.4L turbo diesel engine is said to produce 150PS of power and 350Nm/400Nm of torque with the 5-speed manual/6-speed torque converter automatic, respectively. The 2.0L petrol and 2.7L petrol engines produce 130PS and 183Nm and 166PS and 245Nm, respectively.
The design of the Hilux Champ speaks business that it’s meant to do. The media images reveal the rugged single cab design, finished with a white exterior colour and blacked-out bumpers. Owners can further add a range of customisations — everything from door decals and alloy wheels to different loading deck options.
