Tesla’s highly anticipated electric pickup truck, the Cybertruck, has recently been sighted on an Icelandic glacier, raising speculation of a possible promotional video shoot ahead of its official launch. The electric automaker was reportedly capturing footage of the Cybertruck in action, presumably for use in promotional materials during the launch event or as part of a media campaign associated with the vehicle’s debut.
While Tesla has yet to unveil a specific launch date for the Cybertruck, CEO Elon Musk hinted at a potential delivery event taking place around the close of September, aligning with the end of the third quarter. However, given the absence of finalized specifications and pricing details, this event might primarily involve deliveries to company employees and insiders.
Earlier this month, a leaked video showcased several Tesla Cybertrucks stationed within the Gigafactory Texas plant, with their front trunks open. In a separate instance, the Cybertruck was observed equipped with calibration equipment, underscoring the meticulous testing and fine-tuning the vehicle is undergoing.
The Cybertruck has not been shy of grabbing attention during its development phase. A particularly eye-catching moment occurred when the prototype was seen being transported on a truck in Livermore, California, sporting a camouflage wrap that amusingly resembled a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
In another instance, the Cybertruck appeared with a new and darker camouflage wrap that effectively concealed the design features of the electric pickup. Earlier, in June, the prototype made its way to New Zealand via plane, potentially for conclusive winter testing.
Tesla initially announced the Cybertruck in 2019, boldly claiming a market entry by the close of 2021. Despite the delays and challenges inherent to developing an innovative vehicle like the Cybertruck, Tesla enthusiasts and the automotive world at large remain intrigued by the promise of this unique electric pickup.
