Tata Motors has inaugurated its cutting-edge Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF) named ‘Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect’ in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The facility, launched by Smt Tukuni Sahu, Minister of Water Resources, Commerce & Transport, Government of Odisha, is dedicated to the eco-friendly dismantling of end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles.
Developed and operated in collaboration with Tata Motors’ partner Empreo Premium, the facility is equipped to safely and sustainably disassemble up to 10,000 vehicles each year. As the second RVSF after Jaipur, this initiative underscores Tata Motors’ commitment to sustainable practices.
The facility is meticulously designed for environmentally responsible vehicle scrapping across all brands. Its fully digital operations ensure seamlessness and paperless efficiency. The site features specialized stations for the safe dismantling of various components, including batteries, tyres, fuels, oils, and gases.
Every vehicle undergoes a precise documentation and dismantling process, tailored to meet the requirements of passenger and commercial vehicles. This meticulous approach ensures thorough component disposal and environmentally conscious practices.
Rajesh Kaul, Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors, expressed the company’s dedication to eco-friendly mobility solutions and complete lifecycle management. He praised the Government of Odisha for facilitating the project, highlighting that these decentralized facilities will benefit customers, stimulate economic growth, generate employment, and fulfill the need for sustainable vehicle scrapping.
The launch of the Bhubaneswar RVSF marks another stride in Tata Motors’ commitment to sustainable practices and the responsible disposal of end-of-life vehicles.
