Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Edition at INR 17.70 lakh ex-showroom. The first-gen Hayabusa was unveiled at the Intermot in Germany, back in 1998 and the legend was born.
Suzuki is celebrating 25 glorious years of the Hayabusa with a 25th Anniversary Edition and it comes with a handful of changes that give it a special feeling. To begin with, the anniversary edition features a 3D emblem for the 25th Anniversary Edition and Suzuki badging. The particular edition’s logos are also etched on the muffler.
Other additions include a gold anodised drive chain adjuster, front brake disc inner, and original engravings on the muffler body and drive chain. It must be noted that the 25th Anniversary Edition of the new Hayabusa is only available with the single-seat version, that too in a special dual-tone orange and black colour scheme.
On the powertrain front, the Hayabusa 25th Anniversary Edition continues with the same 1340cc engine as the standard model. Its four-cylinder engine features dual overhead cams and liquid cooling. Its power and torque output stand at 190PS and 150Nm, respectively. The engine channels power to the rear wheel via a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox, which also features a bi-directional quick shifter.
Ever since Suzuki launched the Hayabusa, the Japanese bikemaker has managed to sell over 2,00,000 examples of the super sport across the world. On the anniversary announcement, Mr. Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “The Suzuki Hayabusa has been an icon of speed, style, and innovation for more than 25 years.
