Stellantis has announced a recall for a significant number of Ram 1500 pickup trucks sold in the United States. The recall, which was confirmed by the NHTSA, is related to a potential issue with the electronic stability control (ESC) system in these vehicles.
According to the NHTSA, the front wheel hub encoder rings in the affected trucks may become damaged, which can ultimately disable the electronic stability control system. This system is a crucial safety feature designed to help drivers maintain control of their vehicles, especially in challenging driving conditions.
The recall affects approximately 33,777 Ram 1500 pickup trucks, and Stellantis has pledged to address the issue through its dealer network. Owners of the affected vehicles will be able to bring their trucks to authorised Stellantis dealerships, where the front wheel bearing hub assembly will be inspected and replaced, if necessary, at no cost to the customer.
