Simple Dot One electric scooter with 150-km range launched at INR 1 lakh

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup Simple Energy on Friday launched its second electric offering in the country – Dot One – at an introductory pricing of INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The price is valid for customers from the city who had pre-booked the electric scooter. The company has also opened online bookings for the scooter and the price will be revised for new customers in January. Deliveries will commence in Bengaluru, followed by other cities, in a phased manner.

Battery, range and performance:

Simple Dot One is based on the same platform as the company’s maiden One electric scooter. It has been equipped with a single 3.7 kWh fixed battery, delivering a certified range of 151 kilometres and a range of 160 kilometres on IDC. The scooter comes with a 750W charger and an 8.5 kW electric motor, which delivers a peak torque output of 72 Nm. Simple Energy claims that their new offering is the fastest in its segment, with a 0 to 40 kmph acceleration time of 2.77 seconds.

Tyres and colours:

The model rides on 12-inch wheels paired with 90-90 tubeless tyres, specially designed for maximising the on-road range. The scooter is available in four colors – Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Azure Blue. As an introductory offering, the scooter will also be offered in LightX and BrazenX color options for those looking for variety. The two introductory colours have been introduced in response to customer demand.

Feature highlights:

Safety features on the model include CBS braking system, complemented by disc brakes. The scooter boasts an expansive 35-litre under-seat storage, an intuitive touchscreen instrument cluster, and app connectivity features for an enhanced riding experience.
