Along with the all-new Himalayan 450, Royal Enfield also showcased a unique and striking roadster, called the Shotgun 650, at its Motoverse festival held in Goa. Inspired by custom culture, this one-of-a-kind motorcycle is showcased with a special colourway, and is limited to just 25 units available for booking until midnight on November 25. The series production model of the Shotgun 650 will be launched early next year, but RE has confirmed that this colourway and graphic design will be limited to the Motoverse edition only and will never be produced again. The limited edition motorcycle is priced at INR 425,000 (ex-showroom) and it will be delivered to its customers in January 2024. These 25 individuals will be the first owners of the Shotgun 650 globally.
Built on Royal Enfield’s 650-Twin platform, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition pays homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept. The production version retains the cast aluminium nacelle, chopped fenders and angular bodywork from the concept model showcased at the EICMA 2021. The tank of the motorcycle is very similar to that of the SG650 concept, and so are the unique ten-spoke wheel rims which have integrated ABS. The front suspension has an upside-down fork and an integrated aluminium top yoke with low-rise extra-wide handlebars. The motorcycle comes with Royal Enfield genuine motorcycle accessories such as bar end mirrors and LED black indicators. These accessories are preloaded and customized as per the design of the motorcycle. At the rear, twin shocks are mounted to the iconic chassis loop, and the bike has a hand-stitched black leather floating solo seat. According to Royal Enfield, the Shotgun 650 can be transformed from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater to a weekend tourer in just a few minutes.
The Shotgun 650 appears to share cycle parts with the Super Meteor 650. It is powered by the same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine that is found in other 650 models in Royal Enfield’s lineup. This engine generates 47bhp and 52Nm of torque and is coupled with a six-speed gearbox in its current versions. It is not yet clear if Royal Enfield has made any changes to the engine’s tuning for the Shotgun. The engine is finished in black with new gloss black engine covers and complemented by a custom exhaust system.
During the Motoverse event, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Limited mentioned that each of the 25 motorcycles was customized over several months. He further added that the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is just the beginning of their journey in factory custom models and there are many more exciting models to come. It will offer a platform for motorcycle customisation without sacrificing the benefits of Royal Enfield’s dedicated after-sales service ecosystem. In addition to this, the limited edition motorcycle will be offered with an extended warranty and RSA service.
