After debuting the model in December, Royal Enfield has now launched the Shotgun 650 motorcycle in the UK and the European markets at a starting price of GBP 6,699 and EUR 7,590, respectively. In India, the starting sticker price is INR 3.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The 650cc bike will be available in the UK and Europe starting February while test rides and deliveries in India will begin from March. Bookings in the country have been open. In in the Americas and across the APAC, the motorcycle will be made available starting spring of 2024.
Design highlights:
The Shotgun 650 turns heads with its retro-futuristic design language borrowed from its precursor, the SG650 Concept, which was showcased at EICMA 2021. The LED headlamp comes fitted in a custom, neo-modern nacelle, offering improved visibility. The custom-inspired motorcycle is available in four colours – Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Sheet Metal Grey. It is based on the company’s 650-twin platform and serves as a blank canvas for those looking for personalisation. “The Shotgun 650 is a symbol of the united pulse of the custom community, and an ode to the long-standing tradition of customising Royal Enfield motorcycles,” said B Govindarajan, CEO of the company.
Mechanical highlights:
The latest from Royal Enfield is ergonomically optimised with mid-set foot position, a low 795mm seat height and an intuitive handlebar position. The floating single seat layout is both retro and modern at the same time. The Shotgun benefits from a specially tuned suspension, big piston Showa forks on the front, twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the back, 1465mm wheelbase and a low centre of gravity to glide through traffic woes. It rides on wide 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless tyres, combined with 320mm and 300mm disc brakes.
Feature highlights:
The motorcycle gets a digi-analogue instrument cluster, which comes equipped with the Tripper navigation system to deliver all the information a rider needs. The new Wingman in-app feature that keeps one updated about the motorcycle’s live location, fuel and engine oil levels, and service reminders, among others. It also features a USB charging port.
