Royal Enfield debuts Shotgun 650 production version

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 gets a retro-futuristic design

After introducing a limited-run special edition of Shotgun 650 at the Motoverse 2023, Royal Enfield has now debuted the production version of the motorbike. The company will launch the motorbike across global markets early next year. It will be made available in four colours – Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey. The motorbike incorporates the company DNA into a design inspired by the custom community. It pays homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept – which was showcased at EICMA
2021.

Shotgun 650 has been built on the company’s 650-Twin platform. “The 648cc parallel twin engine that powers this machine is a characterful and versatile platform that is capable of adapting to any kind of riding form and format,” said B Govindarajan, CEO – Royal Enfield. The bike gets an all-new bodywork and opens up new avenues of customisation. Its modular design enables it to switch between three modes – from single seater to double seater to luggage-carrying tourer. The pillion seat goes in and out with the twist of a key, offering ultimate flexibility to riders. The motorcycle’s upright position offers an effortless riding experience.

The latest from Royal Enfield has been ergonomically optimised, with mid-set foot position. Thanks to a low 795-mm seat height, an intuitive handlebar position, the riders get a commanding sense of presence and control. The floating single seat exudes both retro and modern vibes at the same time. The bike gets specially tuned suspension, big piston Showa forks on the front, twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the back, 1465mm wheelbase and a low centre of gravity. The motorbike rides on wide 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless tyres, combined with 320mm and 300mm disc brakes, ensuring a steady grip, and keeping the rider in control at all speeds.

In terms of design, the Shotgun 650 gets a retro-futuristic design – an LED headlamp and neo-modern nacelle stay true to the neo-retro fusion aesthetic, while offering improved visibility. A digi-analogue instrument cluster comes equipped with the Tripper navigation system. It shows all important information the rider needs before heading out. The Shotgun 650 also comes incorporated with the newly lunched Wingman in-app feature that keeps one updated on the motorcycle’s live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders and more. A USB charging port is available as well.

Royal Enfield is providing a range of 31 Genuine Motorcycle Accessories for the Shotgun 650 such as bar end mirrors, a sculpted solo seat and contrast-cut billet rims. The company has also partnered with American apparel manufacturer ICON Motorsports to offer a range of apparel complementing the bike.
