Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is set to make a statement at this year’s Festival of Speed, showcasing a carefully curated selection of bespoke vehicles that exemplify the pinnacle of automotive luxury. The prestigious event, held on the grounds of the historic Goodwood Estate, will serve as the perfect backdrop for Rolls-Royce to display its unparalleled craftsmanship and design prowess.
The marque’s presence at the festival will feature an impressive lineup of vehicles, each meticulously tailored to showcase the company’s bespoke capabilities. Visitors to the Laundry Green, adjacent to Goodwood House, will have the opportunity to marvel at specially commissioned versions of the Phantom Extended, Ghost, Spectre, and the latest iteration of the Cullinan.
Boris Weletzky, Regional Director for the United Kingdom, Europe, and Central Asia, expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its significance in the company’s annual calendar. He emphasised the unique opportunity to showcase the talent, creativity, and ingenuity of Rolls-Royce’s artisans, designers, and engineers through these bespoke creations.
One of the standout vehicles on display will be the Cullinan Series II, making its UK public debut at the Festival of Speed. This evolution of Rolls-Royce’s super-luxury SUV introduces several key enhancements, including a new vertical design theme inspired by illuminated skyscrapers. The vehicle’s interior features a first for the marque – a miniature Spirit of Ecstasy figurine displayed within a new Clock Cabinet in the fascia.
The Cullinan Series II also introduces innovative design elements such as Placed Perforation, a technique that creates intricate artworks through tiny perforations in the leather. Additionally, the vehicle showcases a new rayon fabric made from bamboo, named Duality Twill, further demonstrating Rolls-Royce’s commitment to exploring novel materials and textures.
Alongside the Cullinan, Rolls-Royce will present the Spectre, its first fully electric motor car. This striking two-tone creation in Peony Pearl and Black Diamond symbolises the dawn of a new era for the luxury automaker. The Spectre’s interior is described as a “celestial cosseting haven,” featuring a mesmerising Starlight Headliner and Starlight Doors with thousands of softly illuminated ‘stars.’
In a nod to the company’s rich heritage, each of the one-of-one Phantom, Ghost, and Spectre models created for the event will feature a painted ‘sound wave’ design on the lid of the centre console. These designs convey inspirational quotes from the marque’s founding fathers, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, commemorating the 120th anniversary of their first meeting.
The Phantom Extended, Rolls-Royce’s flagship model, will be presented in a modern interpretation inspired by the French Riviera. Finished in a striking two-tone of Diba Teal and Black Diamond, this bespoke creation showcases the marque’s unparalleled attention to detail and craftsmanship. The vehicle’s Gallery, a unique feature that spans the entire fascia, features a monochrome leather artwork with an embroidered wave pattern, requiring over 35 hours of meticulous work.
Completing the lineup is a specially commissioned Ghost, presented in Blue Crystal over Black with a Charles Blue Coachline. This elegant creation embodies the vehicle’s ethos of reduction, minimalism, and simplicity while demonstrating the extensive possibilities for personalization.
Beyond the vehicles themselves, Rolls-Royce will also showcase its expertise in creating luxurious accessories. Visitors can admire bespoke luggage collections, including the Escapism Luggage Collection designed to complement the Peony Pearl Spectre and the Kinetic Luggage Collection that pairs with the Phantom.
