Revised Mercedes-AMG GT 63 goes on sale globally

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 recently saw a design nip and tuck and the revised model is now on sale in the global markets. It remains mechanically unchanged but borrows design elements from the new AMG GT Coupe. The prices of the updated model range from EUR 168,152.95 to EUR 185,050.95.

The revised Mercedes-AMG GT 63 gets a minor design refresh where most changes are centred on the front profile. Along with the new radiator grille finish, the updated GT 63 also sports larger air intakes below the grille and vertical air ducts, which are integrated into the front apron. Apart from these small changes, the GT 63 AMG looks identical to the earlier model and retains its 4-door coupe body style.

Following the traditions of minor updates in its portfolio, Mercedes-AMG now offers more equipment as standard with the updated GT 63. These updated standard features include an electric sunroof, adaptive air suspension, rear axle steering, electronically-controlled rear locking differential, multi-beam LED headlights and a powered tailgate.

In addition to the standard feature upgrades, the GT 63 also receives an update to the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). It brings newly designed AMG-specific displays and a new sound experience from the standard or 3D sound system, supplied by Burmester Sound.

On the powertrain front, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 continues to come with a 4.0L twin-turbocharged petrol engine. In the standard AMG 63 guise, this engine puts out 585PS of power and 800Nm of torque. Choosing the AMG 63 S amps up the power to 639PS and torque to 900Nm. The standard GT 63 can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 310kmph. The GT 63 S shaves off the time by 0.2 seconds, managing a time of 3.2 seconds and hitting 315kmph top speed.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S retains its crown as the fastest four-door sedan around the Nurburgring, beating both the BMW M5 CS and Jaguar XE Project 8. Mercedes-AMG also offered the AMG GT 63 S E Performance with an F1-inspired performance hybrid system. The E Performance was recently launched in India and the key handover to customers was done by 7-time Formula-1 world champion Lewis Hamilton
