Renault has lined up 5 product launches that will take place in the next 3 years. The new range of offerings, which includes new-gen models of the current portfolio and all-new product introductions, is said to reinforce the presence of Renault in the Indian automotive landscape.
With cost-effective products like the Kwid, Triber and Kiger, Renault has been seen as an affordable European carmaker in the Indian market. The French carmaker has decided to overhaul its image in the eyes of the customers with an offensive product strategy.
Starting with the upcoming new-gen models, Renault will bring the next-gen Triber MPV and next-gen Kiger in the next 3 years. The carmaker is yet to reveal the timeline for the launches of the said models and the degree to which these offerings can be overhauled. In addition, the carmaker has also revealed its plan to introduce two all-new SUVs and a localised EV.
The upcoming all-new SUVs from Renault will fall in the B+ and C segments. The B+ segment includes models like the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun whereas the C-segment includes the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
To create a bigger differentiation between its SUVs, Renault could also play with body styles, one of which could feature a coupe-inspired tapering roofline, while the other could carry the traditional SUV body style. In addition, Renault is also working on its localised EV, which is said to be an A-segment hatchback. The A-segment EV could share its underpinnings with the Dacia Spring, which is the all-electric derivative of the Renault Kwid.
Speaking of Renault’s current portfolio, the carmaker also introduced a host of additions to the Kwid, Triber and Kiger. Beginning with the Kwid, the additions include 3 dual-tone colour options and an RXL(O) AMT variant, which makes it the most affordable automatic model in the market.Â
Moving to the Triber, the MPV features feature additions across its variants that also include new features such as a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, power-fold and adjustable outside rearview mirror (ORVMs), LED cabin lights, PM2.5 air filter, driver seat armrest and rear wiper. In addition, the Triber also features a new Stealth black exterior body colour.
Lastly, the Renault Kiger also features a couple of interesting feature additions such as auto-fold ORVMs, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, LED cabin lights, semi-leatherette seats and feature revisions across its variants. The Renault Kwid, Triber and Kiger carry forward the same set of engine-transmission options as the earlier models.
Speaking of revised prices, the 2024 Renault Kwid prices start from INR 4.70 lakh and go to INR 5.95 lakh ex-showroom. The 2024 Renault Triber prices start from INR 6.00 lakh and go up to INR 8.75 lakh ex-showroom. The 2024 Renault Kiger prices also start from INR 6.00 lakh and go up to INR 11 lakh ex-showroom.
