Crossing over 25 years of production, the Kangoo crosses 4 million units of production, which went on to be sold in 50 countries across the globe. While the Maubeuge plant served as its mother plant, the Kangoo was also produced in Argentina for the South American market for over 25 years.
Renault Kangoo is the best-selling electric vehicle in its segment as the French carmaker managed to hand over keys to 1,00,000 units to customers since 2011 across Europe. Renault claims that the Kangoo is ideal for both family use and commercial use, thanks to the innumerable seating configurations.
Celebrating the milestone, Renault delivered the 4 millionth Kangoo van to one of its historic customers — La Poste. The customer happens to be a French post office, which has been using the Kangoo van to deliver post mail and parcels.
Upon making the delivery to Eve Pietriga, Heinz-Jürgen Löw, senior vice president, light commercial vehicles, Renault said, “It was a huge pleasure to present La Poste, a historic customer of the Renault brand, with the keys of the 4 millionth Renault Kangoo built at the Maubeuge plant and it gives us great pride to say that the cooperation between our two companies began over a hundred years ago.”
He further added, “What’s more, we share many common values. We are both French companies dedicated to international mobility and committed to bringing our customers increasingly innovative and sustainable solutions.”
There are multiple characteristics of the Kangoo van, that make it one of the most sensible vans in its segment. To begin with, the Kangoo runs on independent suspension, which is said to offer a comfortable ride. Furthermore, its best-in-class 1.45-metre side opening, inside folding roof rack, the three front seats with folding central backrests forming a mobile desktop and almost 60 litres of interior storage space also boost its practicality.
