India-based electric two wheeler manufacturer PURE EV has taken an important step towards sustainability with 500 KWh of Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) integrated with 125 KW Solar system at its Telangana facility. This initiative, seamlessly tied to diesel generator (DG) systems and the power grid, has brought remarkable results: electricity costs were reduced by 60 per cent, and DG fuel consumption by 65 per cent compared to the previous fiscal year.
The solar installation of the company has enabled it to use the renewable energy, lessening its dependence on the conventional grid electricity and more green operations. Further, efficiency is further boosted by integrating ESS with solar, grid, and DG systems as fuel costs are lowered and peak load charges slashed by 50% to contribute to PURE EV’s operational sustainability.
The 500 KWh ESS capacity installed utilises repurposed batteries highlighting the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The batteries used were refurbished left over customer trade in of old models, replaced with the newest fifth generation high performance units. PURE EV has a proven track record of deep circular economy thinking, which this innovative approach further showcases.
Dr. Nishanth Dongari, Founder and Managing Director of PURE EV, emphasised the importance of these advancements:
“We are happy to stick to our roots—Power Using Renewable Energy (PURE).” We are able to reduce environmental impact and reduce energy costs by using advanced energy storage technologies combined with solar power. Not only does this decrease our reliance on non renewable resources, it also improves operational efficiency in a very significant way providing both environmental and economic advantages. In the pursuit of greening our technologies we recognise the role played by energy efficiency in making our future more sustainable.”
PURE EV looks to grow its renewable energy chops ahead and is aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2026. The company plans to add an additional 125 KW solar system and a further 500 KWh ESS in the next two years, accelerating its sustainability goals at its manufacturing plant and corporate offices.
This bold initiative solidifies PURE EV’s leadership in the renewable energy and electric mobility sectors while paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.
