Praga, a once-prominent European automotive brand founded in 1907, is poised to make a remarkable comeback with the unveiling of its latest creation – the Praga Bohema. Despite its historical significance, Praga is not widely recognised in the United States. However, the company aims to change that narrative with its new supercar, which boasts a potent Nissan GT-R powerhouse.
Originally showcased in prototype form back in November 2022, the Praga Bohema has now transitioned from concept to production. The manufacturing process takes place at Praga’s specialised facility in the Czech Republic, where a limited run of just 89 units will be meticulously handcrafted. Priced at a substantial USD 1.4 million each, the Bohema is positioned as an exclusive and high-performance offering in the supercar realm. The initial batch of customers has already been treated with an exclusive tour of the manufacturing facility, providing them with a firsthand look at the car’s assembly.
To further engage its first patrons, Praga organised an exclusive event allowing them to experience the Bohema’s capabilities on the ice-draped roads of the Czech Republic. Fitted with standard Pirelli Trofeo R tyres, the prototype showcased its prowess, offering a taste of thrilling performance that awaits future owners. Both customers and spectators are eagerly waiting for Bohema’s official debut, scheduled for spring 2024.
Praga has revealed that the inaugural customer deliveries are slated for later this year in Europe, with each vehicle featuring a unique specification to commemorate the occasion. Handovers are around the corner for customers in the UAE and the United States, set to take place in 2024. Notably, Praga is now accepting orders for 2025 and beyond, reinforcing its confidence in the sustained demand of the Bohema.
At the heart of the Praga Bohema lies a potent 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, sourced from the Nissan GT-R through a strategic supply agreement between the two manufacturers. This powerplant churns out an impressive 700PS and 725Nm of torque, propelling the lightweight supercar that dwells a shade below 1,000kg in weight. With a top speed exceeding 300 km/h, the Bohema promises an exhilarating driving experience.
Praga’s commitment to performance is underscored by its collaboration with distinguished race drivers during the vehicle’s development. Formula 1 and IndyCar veteran Romain Grosjean, along with Ben Collins, the former Stig, contributed their expertise to fine-tune and perfect Bohema’s dynamic capabilities.
