Porsche has wrapped up the initial half of 2023 on a high note, marking a remarkable 15% surge in deliveries. Across the globe, the iconic sports car brand handed over 167,354 vehicles to customers during January to June 2023, showcasing a substantial upswing from the previous year’s 145,860.
Detlev von Platen, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, expressed contentment, stating, “Our first-half delivery outcomes bring us gratification. Every sales domain has witnessed progress.”
Europe and Germany Spearhead Growth Porsche’s European foray yielded impressive results, with 36,574 vehicles delivered in the first half, reflecting a striking 23% year-on-year growth. The brand’s native market, Germany, also stood out, as 17,118 units found homes—a remarkable increase of 24%. In North America, a similar positive trend unfolded, with 41,937 vehicles handed over, signifying a 12% YoY increase. Porsche’s tenacity in challenging Chinese circumstances bore fruit, delivering 43,832 units, an 8% rise. Beyond, overseas and emerging markets tallied 27,893 deliveries, demonstrating a robust 16% escalation.
Macan SUV Triumphs as Frontrunner Porsche’s SUV range remained in high demand, with the Porsche Macan securing the lead by finding favor with 47,755 customers—a notable upsurge of 26%. This model accounted for an impressive 28% of total H1 CY2023 sales. The Cayenne followed suit with 46,884 deliveries (+12%).
A Timeless Classic and Electric Innovation Celebrating its 60th year, the iconic Porsche 911 retained its allure, reaching the eager hands of 26,124 global customers—an impressive uptick of 21%. The all-electric Taycan garnered the attention of 17,991 customers despite a minor dip of 5%. Porsche attributed this variance to parts availability challenges that particularly affected the electric sports car.
Panamera and 718 Series Contribute The Panamera luxury sedan showcased robust performance with 17,565 deliveries (+13%). Further strengthening Porsche’s prowess were the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models, adding 11,035 deliveries (+13%) to the brand’s accomplishments.
