The one-off 1995 Alfa Romeo Castagna Vittoria will go on auction by Car and Classic, which happens to be Europe’s largest online marketplace for classic and unique vehicles. The auction for the coach-built one-off model will take place between November 15 and November 22 and is likely to fetch between EUR 1,25,000 and EUR 1,35,000.
The designer of the one-off Alfa Romeo, Castagna Vittoria, ceased its operations in 1954. The brand was revived in 1995 and presented the Castagna Vittoria as its first creation at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show. While the Castagna Vittoria sits on the Alfa Romeo 75, it resembles more with the SZ.
Its key design elements include a long front overhang, further accentuating the iconic Trilobo-motif grille, C-line around the window line which draws inspiration from the 21st-century Bugatti and a distinctive Kamm tail at the rear. With a long sweeping hoot and elongated tail, the one-off model looks a bit plain from the side, leaving a large blank space around below the roofline.
Given it’s a one-off build, it boasts multiple bespoke and hand-built parts. The aluminium body panels have been hand-hammered over the steel frame of the base Alfa Romeo 75. Furthermore, the entire frame of the base car has been rebuilt for the transformation. Its interior has been overhauled with dark green leather, sporty Alcantara trim pieces and wooden elements.
Powering the Alfa Romeo Castagna Vittoria is a 3.0L ‘Busso’ V6 petrol engine. This famed V6 petrol engine pumps out 255PS at 5740rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, it also gets updated suspension running with Koni coaxial shock absorbers and an independent setup at the front. Braking duties are handled by Brembo 6-piston ventilated disc brakes, rounding it as a serious driver’s car.
Prospective bidders of this one-off Alfa Romeo would love to note that it comes stamped with ‘Car0001’ branding along with all the necessary paperwork, including the car’s original owner’s manual. Boosting its exclusivity further, it also gets an ABC miniature of the car that was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Ever since it was displaced, the car has received careful upkeep and has only driven for 2,500km.
