Ola Electric rolls out MoveOS 4 software update countrywide

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has rolled out the MoveOS 4 software update across the country with updated features. Customers of Ola S1 Gen 1 portfolio, S1 Pro (2nd Generation), and S1 Air will get more than 100 new features and improvements through over-the-air (OTA) upgrades. Customers of S1 X+ will get the upgrade in the coming months. The MoveOS 4 software update is a part of annual software updates done by the company for its range of scooters.

Updated Ola Maps

The MoveOS 4 update has upgraded Ola Maps – a feature that now enables search function with improved and faster routing. The user interface has been redesigned, allowing riders to access essential features without leaving the navigation screen. Users can even designate favorite locations to get a personalized experience. Users can also add locations from their phone to scooter through Bluetooth functionality.

Updated Ola Electric App

A new ‘Ride Journal’ has been added to the Ola Electric App – Companion App (CApp), which enables users to share their riding milestones and badges. They can view ride metrics and charging and riding-based energy insights which could help them improve energy efficiency and range. There is a ‘Dark Mode’ option now available while convenient phone widgets can be added for quick access to key scooter information. Additionally, biometric lock options add another layer of security to the app.

Advanced control features

For added security and customization, the MoveOS 4 update brings Geofencing and Timefencing to the Ola scooters. Users can define specific operating areas and timeframes for the scooter as well as limit ride modes to ensure safe and appropriate usage by secondary users. AI-powered ‘Tamper Detection’ and ‘Fall Detection’ features alert users in real-time about unauthorized tampering or is a fall is detected.

Other key feature updates

To offer a better riding experience to owners of Ola e-scooters, the company has improved ‘Hill Descent Control’ and the introduced ‘Cruise Control in eco-mode. Thanks to AI-based indicator control, the lights get turned off automatically minimizing manual commands. A feature called ‘Favorites-Only Calling’ has been added for distraction-free communication while on the go.

A new ‘Care’ mood option allows the customer community to connect with the company’s mission through real time information about C02 savings and cost savings via on screen widgets. The ‘Concert Mode’ enables any host user to play synchronized music across multiple Ola scooters, just like Tesla vehicles abroad.
