Bengaluru: Ola Electric, India’s prominent electric vehicle company, has continued its dominance in the EV 2W segment, maintaining consistent leadership for the past year. Registering approximately 19,000 units in August, the company has achieved a Y-o-Y growth exceeding 400% compared to the same period last year. Ola has sustained a market share of around 30% in August.
Transition Month and Manufacturing Expansion
August marked a transition from Gen-1 to Gen-2, and Ola Electric simultaneously expanded its manufacturing capacity.
Ankush Aggarwal, Chief Business Officer at Ola, stated, “August has been an exciting and busy month for us as we’ve broadened our scooter portfolio to include offerings across popular price points. The expanded S1 lineup is set to accelerate India’s journey towards green mobility.”
Strong Response to S1 Scooter Portfolio
Ola Electric has witnessed a significant response to its expanded S1 scooter portfolio, with over 75,000 bookings received within two weeks of the launch. The Ola Futurefactory is operating in full capacity to cater to the production demand.
Advanced Gen-2 Platform
The newly introduced scooters – S1 Pro, S1 Air, S1X+, S1X (3kWh), and S1X (2kWh) – are built on an advanced Gen-2 platform, making them compelling EV options across various price segments.
S1 Pro: Enhanced Performance and Range
The Gen-2 S1 Pro, priced at INR 1,47,499, boasts improved features like a twin-fork telescopic front suspension and an extended range of 195 km. The scooter can reach a top speed of 120 km/h, making it an attractive offering. Bookings for the S1 Pro Gen 2 are open, with deliveries commencing in mid-September.
S1 Air: Impressive Features
Priced at INR 1,19,999, the S1 Air comes equipped with a robust 3 kWh battery capacity, peak motor power of 6kW, a certified range of 151 km, and an impressive top speed of 90 km/hr. Deliveries for the S1 Air have already started in over 100 cities.
ICE-Killer S1X: Multiple Variants
The ICE-Killer S1X is available in three variants – S1 X+, S1 X (2kWh), and S1 X (3kWh), catering to a diverse range of rider preferences. S1 X+ and S1 X (3kWh) feature a powerful 6kW motor, a 3kWh battery providing a range of 151 km, and a top speed of 90 km/h. The S1 X (2kWh) variant offers a 6kW motor, a 2kWh battery with a range of 91 km, and a top speed of 85 km/h.
Delivery and Pricing
S1 X+ can be purchased at INR 1,09,999, with deliveries beginning in September. The pre-reservation window for the S1 X range is open at INR 999. Deliveries for S1 X (3kWh) and S1 X (2kWh) are scheduled to begin in December, available at attractive prices of INR 99,999 and INR 89,999, respectively.
