Nissan Townstar Karaok-e EV concept debuts with a complete karaoke lounge

To showcase the versatility of its Townstar EV platform, Nissan has come up with the Townstar Karaok-e Concept. As the name suggests, it is a one-of-a-kind, 100% electric van that delivers a complete karaoke lounge experience on the move. It features a custom-built mobile music studio with a fully functional, built-in karaoke system. Why the karaoke theme though? The development of this theme stems from the fact that singing and music are scientifically proven to reduce stress, boost dopamine levels and produce endorphins. So, it can be seen as the ultimate way to turn the ordinary into something special.

Interior highlights of the Townstar Karaok-e include a fully integrated sound system and subwoofer, a 32-inch HD display, and a wide selection of songs across multiple languages. Passengers can also record their performances on GoPro cameras, seamlessly personalise, and share their intros/outros on social media platforms using built-in touchscreens.

For an authentic and immersive karaoke experience, the LED cabinet and interior roof lights are synchronised to the beat, while the Karaok-e’s exterior features an eye-catching ‘On Air’ sign that changes colour in the light as you move around the vehicle, guaranteeing maximum attention from pedestrians and other road users.

While you cannot purchase the Townstar Karaok-e, the standard Townstar EV is now available in the UK as a Crew Van, with five seats and a flexible interior. In its standard guise, the Townstar EV gets a 45kWh battery and offers a WLTP driving range (city) of up to 352km. Prices for the Crew Van variants start from £38,295.
