Nissan has unveiled the Ariya NISMO, expanding its electric vehicle (EV) range with a focus on speed, comfort, and handling. The new model, showcased at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, is set to hit the Japanese market in June.
Enhanced performance
The Ariya NISMO builds upon the capabilities of the standard Ariya e-4ORCE, offering customers two models to choose from: the B6 e-4ORCE and the B9 e-4ORCE. The former boasts a 66 kWh battery with a maximum output of 270 kW and 560 Nm of torque, while the latter is equipped with a 91 kWh battery, generating up to 320 kW and 600 Nm of torque. These enhancements aim to deliver powerful yet controlled acceleration, with an exclusive NISMO driving mode for even greater performance.
Premium features
NISMO’s tuning expertise extends to premium components such as brake pads designed for better stopping power and aerodynamic aluminum wheels. The chassis has been optimised for superior suspension performance, complemented by NISMO-tuned e-4ORCE for exceptional traction in all conditions.
Stylish design
The exterior design of the Ariya NISMO combines Nissan’s signature premium quality with NISMO’s aerodynamic prowess. Exclusive bumpers, rear spoilers, and door moldings reduce drag and enhance downforce at higher speeds. Inside, a black-based interior with red accents exudes sportiness, while special NISMO seats provide superior grip and comfort.
Driving experience
Activating NISMO mode transforms the driving experience, especially in vehicles equipped with the NISMO-exclusive BOSE Premium Sound System, which delivers a Formula E racing-inspired sound for added excitement. The Ariya NISMO offers six bodywork colours, including the exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray with a blacked-out roof.
Market expansion
Nissan’s announcement also includes the resumption of orders for the Ariya B2 2WD grade in Japan. Additionally, the company will introduce other models, including the B6 e-4ORCE, B9 2WD, B9 e4ORCE, and B9 e-4ORCE premium grades, catering to diverse customer preferences.
Pricing details
The retail prices for the Japan market vary based on drivetrain, battery capacity, and grade, ranging from 6,590,100 yen for the Ariya B6 2WD to 9,441,300 yen for the Ariya NISMO B9 e-4ORCE.
Nissan’s introduction of the Ariya NISMO underscores its commitment to advancing EV technology and providing customers with an enhanced driving experience.
