Nissan has taken the wraps off of its new Hyper Tourer Concept, which will be showcased at the Japan Mobility Show on October 25, 2023.
Nissan says that the Hyper Tourer combines the essence of omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) with various advanced technologies, including autonomous driving. It comes with a large MPV body style, which carries an uncanny resemblance to the recently unveiled Lexus LM — another flagship MPV from Japan. Its side waistline runs across its length and wraps around the front and rear profiles. Smoother surfaces and thin panels give it a chiselled appearance.
Since it is a concept where design possibilities are endless, the Hyper Tourer Concept boasts of theatre-like sliding doors. Once opened, you are greeted with a spacious cabin that offers swivelling front seats. The front seats can swivel 360 degrees, allowing front- and rear-seat passengers to have face-to-face discussions.
Additionally, an innovative AI system of the concept can monitor your biometric signs — including brain waves, heart rate, breathing and perspiration — and automatically select complementary music and adjust the lighting to fit your mood.
Apart from the new-age design and in-built AI capabilities, the Hyper Tourer Concept also packs all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs). The compact electric components and smaller solid-state batteries enable Nissan to offer impressive cabin space.
In addition to that, the battery placement also ensures an ultra-low centre of gravity. On the powertrain front, the Nissan Hyper Tourer Concept offers Nissan’s e-4ORCE all-wheel control system, which claims to offer smooth acceleration and deceleration.
