For the 2024 Countryman, Mini has segregated the options into 3 key lines — C, S and JCW. The C variant lines feature the less powerful 3-cylinder petrol engine whereas the more powerful petrol engine options fall under the S variant lines. JCW, on the other hand, packs the most performance and sporty aesthetics.
Sitting at the heart of the Mini Countryman C is a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It puts out 170PS of power and 280Nm of torque, catapulting the crossover from a standstill to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds. Unlike the higher grades of the Countryman, the Countryman C comes with a front-wheel-drive powertrain. Its engine also comes coupled with a mild-hybrid system that provides 19PS worth of additional boost, as and when required.
The more powerful Countryman S uses a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine. The bigger engine produces 218PS of power and 360Nm of torque. It also comes mated to a 48V hybrid system that gives a temporary power boost of 22PS. The Countryman John Cooper Works, on the other hand, uses the same engine but offers 300PS of power and 400Nm of torque.
The Countryman is currently the largest Mini on sale and the new 2024 model claims to offer great space and comfort to its passengers. Thanks to the increased wheelbase, the new Mini Countryman not only offers increased rear legroom but also increased luggage-carrying capacity of 450 litres. It comes with a 40:20:40 rear seat split and with all 3 backrests folded, its boot space stands at 1450 litres.Â
The new 2024 Mini Countryman features an all-new design, which will also reflect on the upcoming model year updates of the Mini model range. The new design looks sleek and carries the signature design cues we commonly associate Mini cars with. The revised design language also offers a low drag coefficient of 0.26, improving the aerodynamic efficiency, which should pay dividends in increasing the efficiency of both gasoline and all-electric models.
