Mercedes AMG Ice Experience program
Towards the beginning of 2024, Mercedes-AMG will kick start its AMG Ice Experience program, which for the first time is also offering a chance to experience the G-Class on Ice. The programme is said to offer Comprehensive support, professional guidance and first-class catering. Participants in the program will get to choose between two options — driving AMG models on a frozen lake near the Arctic Circle or experiencing northern Sweden in an adventure in a G-Class.
Mercedes-AMG has curated a special track on Lake Galtisjaure near Arjeplog. The specially curated track sits on more than 60cm thick ice and boasts multiple corners to swing the AMGs around. Mercedes claims that the track draws inspiration from the Nürburgring Nordschleife and develops the correct feel of driving characteristics, braking behaviour and steering precision in slippery conditions.
Participants of the AMG Experience program will receive guidance from professional AMG drivers on how to control powerful AMG models in slippery driving conditions. Given that the track is formed of thick ice, it is obvious from the Mercedes-AMG to offer its all-wheel-drive range of performance models. Sorry, but no AMG GT is part of this experience.
Speaking about the experience program options, Mercedes-AMG offers three levels — Performance, Advance and Pro. Each of these programs can be specced with weekend or week packages offering 3 and 5 days of experience, respectively. Participants opting for the Pro program will have to complete the Advance program first.
Multiple package options for the AMG Ice Experience will take place between January and March 2024. A few package options will also include performance improvement through data and video analysis, ride in the AMG Ice Taxi and Race of Champions. Speaking of the models on offer, the package consists of 5 AMG models — A45 S, C 63 S E Performance, GT 63 S, SL 63 and GT 63.
G-Class adventure program
For the first time, the AMG Ice Experience program also includes the G-Class for an adventure experience. Participants will cover Sweden off the beaten tourist track in the G-Class. The experience program includes four days packed with surprising experiences on varied routes between the northern cities of Arvidsjaur and Kiruna. In addition, the package also offers experiences like an overnight stay in an ice hotel and a snowmobile experience in the dark.
