The 2024 McLaren GTS brings more power and a host of updates over the GT, which is now off the shelves. The GTS is said to strike a balance between supercar handling with grand tourer-like comfort and long-distance capabilities.
With the 2024 GTS, McLaren has enhanced the core abilities of the GT by making it lighter and more powerful than before. Like every other McLaren, the GTS also offers the segment-best power-to-weight ratio, which has been attained thanks to the use of lightweight carbon fibre materials for the roof and upper rear profile.
As a result, the new GTS is lighter by 10kg than the GT, the benefit of which is reflected in the 418PS/tonne power-to-weight ratio. Speaking about its powertrain, the GTS offers a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine, which now produces 635PS at 7,500rpm, which is an increase of 15PS over the GT. The McLaren GTS can do 0-100kmph sprint in only 3.2 seconds and touch a top speed of 326kmph.
The new GTS comes with a slew of standard equipment, one of many is standard carbon ceramic brakes. The GTS uses 390mm brake discs at the front and 380mm discs at the rear with six-piston callipers and four-piston callipers, respectively. In addition, the new McLaren GTS also offers a front nose lift system, which now works in half the time over the earlier GT’s system.
Since the GTS’s 4.0L engine boats a mid-mounted configuration, it frees up space for 420L worth of luggage, which is further accompanied by 150L front storage, making the GTS more practical than one can imagine. The McLaren GTS also offers high-quality materials on the inside such as knurled aluminum switches and gloss black trim pieces. Customers can choose to spec the interior trim pieces in carbon fibre with McLaren branding for a more pronounced sporty ambience.
Alongside an extended and refreshed palette of exterior paints including new options such as Mantis Green, Tanzanite Blue and Ice White, McLaren also offers an exclusive colour to the GTS, which is called Lava Grey. Furthermore, McLaren has added a slew of customisation options for lightweight forged wheel options and interior trims.
