Mahindra updates 2024 XUV400 with new interior, prices cut

The new Mahindra XUV400 boasts a few feature updates and a new dashboard layout featuring new switchgear. The dashboard’s new layout replaces the outgoing model’s ageing design. The key highlights of its interior include the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Speaking of other changes, the XUV400 features a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which is shared with the XUV700. In addition, it offers a redesigned climate control console with rotary dials and information display, a new steering wheel and a new black and beige interior theme, replacing the all-black interior of the outgoing model. Other feature additions include rear AC vents and a wireless phone charger with cooling.

Apart from the interior features and design updates, the XUV400 doesn’t carry any visual changes on its exterior design. It continues to offer copper inserts on its front profile, which is Mahindra’s signature colour for its electric vehicle range. In terms of powertrain and specifications, the updated XUV400 remains unchanged.

The 2024 Mahindra XUV400 continues to offer 2 battery choices — 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh. The smaller battery pack can be specced with both EC Pro and EL Pro variants with a claimed range of 375km while the larger capacity battery pack comes with the EL Pro variant only, offering a claimed range of 456km on a single charge.

Speaking about its specifications, the XUV400 comes with a front-mounted electric motor. It produces 150PS of power and 310Nm of torque and accelerates the small SUV from a standstill to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds.

Mahindra will open bookings for the new XUV400 from January 12 at 2:00 PM for a token amount of INR 21,000 and its deliveries will begin on February 1, 2024. For the 2024 model year, Mahindra has considerably slashed the prices of the XUV400. The updated Mahindra XUV400 prices start from INR 15.49 lakh and go up to INR 17.49 lakh ex-showroom. Based on the variant, Mahindra has reduced the prices ranging between INR 50,000 to 1.5 lakh ex-showroom over the outgoing model.
