This unique open-top model, reminiscent of James Bond’s ride in “Octopussy,” has undergone extensive modifications to accommodate Lunaz’s fully electric powertrain while preserving its iconic exterior.
Structural enhancements for an open-top experience
Unlike Lunaz’s previous fixed-roof electric Range Rovers, the 1983 Range Rover Safari required substantial reinforcement of its body and chassis to ensure strength and stability without a roof. Despite these enhancements, the original exterior coachwork remains unchanged, finished in a bespoke ‘Maya Blue’ with a dark blue convertible hood selected by the client.
Extensive interior transformation
The interior of the 1983 Range Rover Safari has undergone a complete overhaul, representing the most extensive development of any Lunaz vehicle to date. The original spartan dashboard and interior have been replaced with a new and extended 3D printed console, integrating modern technology such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-enabled infotainment screen.

Both driver and passenger seats feature heating and proprietary padding materials developed for Lunaz’s upcycled Rolls-Royce and Bentley models. The interior upholstery uses soft but hardwearing leather and innovative waterproof and chlorine-resistant textile for durability.

The 1983 Range Rover Safari by Lunaz boasts a 280kW powertrain producing 375 bhp, offering significant power increase and zero emissions compared to the original V8 engine. To manage the additional torque, the vehicle has been upgraded with adjustable dampers, bespoke springs, and advanced braking systems while retaining its original off-road capabilities.
