The 2025 Lexus UX offers a new hybrid powertrain named 300h. The fifth-gen hybrid powertrain uses a 2.0L four-cylinder petrol engine along with 2 electric motors and a Li-ion battery pack. The 60-cell Li-ion battery pack sits under the rear seat and replaces the older nickel-metal hydride battery. The system channels power to the front wheels via a planetary-type continuously variable transmission.
On the other hand, the rear wheels draw power from an electric motor, which produces 40PS of power. The combined system output stands at 196PS, enabling the UX 300h to sprint from a standstill to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds.
Apart from the addition of a more powerful powertrain, the UX also packs new features and a Copper Crest exterior colour option. To begin with, the 2025 UX adds shift-by-wire tech, which is said to offer a more seamless shifting experience. In addition, the F-Sport handling model adds Active Variable Suspension (AVS) for sharpened handling and stability.
While the exterior changes on the UX are minimal, the interior of the 2025 model brings a couple of visual enhancements. The centre of attraction is the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is now offered as a standard fitment in all premium and F-Sport variants. The updated infotainment system offers wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, certain higher models also receive new controls for the door handles and hairline finishing on multiple interior trim pieces.
Other features of the 2025 UX include 8-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation functions, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic glass roof and 18-inch run-flat tyres. The UX continues to carry its quirky exterior design, which includes elements like the spindle radiator grille, LED headlights, blade-designed LED tail lights and a wing-type rear spoiler.
