Lectrix EV, a prominent player in the two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) industry and part of the SAR Group, has announced a strategic partnership with ZEVO, a leading company in the electric mobility sector. This collaboration involves Lectrix EV supplying 1,000 advanced electric two-wheelers to ZEVO for their last-mile delivery operations across India.
A key feature of this partnership is ZEVO’s access to Lectrix EV’s innovative Battery Swap Network, the first of its kind in India. This network addresses range anxiety, a significant barrier to EV adoption, by allowing riders to quickly swap batteries on the go. Lectrix EV plans to establish extensive swap station networks in major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi/NCR, Pune, and Hyderabad.
The partnership also provides ZEVO with access to Lectrix EV’s comprehensive ecosystem integration, which includes vehicles, battery solutions, and the swap network. This end-to-end solution aims to streamline operations and maximise efficiency for B2B fleet companies like ZEVO.
Pritesh Talwar, President of EV Business at Lectrix EV, emphasized the company’s commitment to revolutionizing last-mile delivery operations and driving sustainable transportation solutions in India. Aditya Singh Ratnu, Founder & CEO of ZEVO, highlighted how Lectrix EV’s solutions align with their vision of promoting zero-emission transportation, particularly suited for India’s diverse road networks.
ZEVO plans to deploy these EVs nationwide, starting with Delhi and Mumbai, and later expanding to other major cities. Lectrix EV, launched in 2020, is backed by an initial investment of Rs 300 crore and a production facility capable of manufacturing 1.5 lakh EVs annually. The company aims to expand its portfolio of electric two-wheelers, focusing on technological innovation and affordability.
