Lamborghini, renowned for its powerful combustion engine models, has reached a significant milestone as the order books for these iconic vehicles are completely sold out, extending till the culmination of production. Stephan Winkelmann, the brand’s Chief Executive, confirmed this to WELT newspaper, underscoring the rapid evolution towards a purely hybrid lineup.

Amid the backdrop of this remarkable feat, the curtain is falling on the production of the Huracan and Urus combustion engine models. Winkelmann emphasized that as Lamborghini heads toward a future characterized by hybrids, orders for these legendary vehicles have surged.

This achievement aligns seamlessly with Lamborghini’s forward-looking strategy, as announced last July. The company unveiled plans to invest a substantial sum of 1.8 billion euros (equivalent to US$ 2 billion) to develop a hybrid lineup, slated for rollout by 2024. Furthermore, Lamborghini aims to unveil a fully electric model by the close of this decade, cementing its commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Winkelmann shed light on the forthcoming transformation, revealing that plug-in hybrids would supersede combustion engine models in 2024 and 2025. Expressing confidence in the reception of their hybrid Revuelto model, he predicted its imminent sold-out status by the close of 2025.

This exciting trajectory follows Lamborghini’s record-breaking sales performance in the previous year, propelling the brand forward on a trajectory of excellence. As the company accelerates towards the future, the convergence of hybrid and electric technologies promises not only to continue Lamborghini’s legacy of automotive prowess but also to redefine the paradigm of luxury performance for a new era.
